On July 4nd, 2025, Just days after being labeled as #2 Best Kayak Tour by USAToday, the GlowRow® Kerrville location was hit by what is now being called the most devastating flood event in Hill Country since 1987. The water moved with such force, it not only erased the land it touched—it erased systems we built with our hands, our vision, and our grit.
Our kayaks, our lighting rigs, our trailer—all gone. What stood as a symbol of nighttime wonder and innovation is now reduced to debris, twisted into trees and buried in silt miles downstream. It’s a total loss.
But that’s not what breaks us.
Because this isn’t just about the gear.
As of this writing, 120** lives have been lost**. Families have been torn apart. Communities are grieving. And the truth is: no amount of rebuilding can overshadow the weight of that reality.
Vinny Mifsud, the franchisee who runs our Kerrville location, was out on tour just hours before the flood began. Had he not made the decision to evacuate and take his son back to Pipe Creek, they wouldn’t be here to tell the story. That fact alone keeps our heads down and our gratitude sharp.
In the days that followed, we walked what was left. We saw mangled paddles, shredded hulls, broken beams—and volunteers. People who showed up without being asked. People who understood that community doesn’t dissolve in floodwater. It digs in.
We are grateful for the outreach, the messages, the check-ins, and the help. And though GlowRow® will one day return to Kerrville, this is not the time for recovery messaging or rebuild campaigns.
This is a time to stand with our neighbors. This is a time to mourn the lives lost. This is a time to pause, observe, and honor.
With steady hands and heavy hearts,
The GlowRow® Team
