FAQs

There are no stupid questions, just frequently asked ones.

How much does a GlowRow® tour cost?

Our tours start at $49.95 per person (not per vessel)

When are tours offered?

Tours can be scheduled any day of the week March through November, but spots are limited and must be reserved in advance. All tours take place once the sun goes down.

Are there age restrictions?

The minimum age to participate is 18, except for Saturday Family Nights at the Rockport - Little Bay location, which are 13+.

NOTE: Every child under 18 must have an adult present to sign the waiver for them and ride in the kayak with them.

If your reservation exceeds the ratio of 1:1 child to parent (more than one child per parent), your reservation will be canceled and refunded.

How long is each GlowRow® tour?

Depending on the location, you can expect the tour to last up to 75 minutes.

When should I arrive?

Please arrive 20 minutes before your scheduled time to allow for check-in and a safety briefing. Late arrivals will have less time on the water.

Do I need to know how to swim?

YES, kayaking is a water sport and it is very important to know how to swim.

Do I have to know how to kayak?

Our tours are for everyone! Each tour will begin with a lesson on how to row before the tour sets off. Kayaking is all about rowing and balancing.

Do you offer Group or Military discounts?

We do not offer Military discounts, but we thank you for your service.

We do, however, offer group discount rates when making a reservation for 20 people you may receive a discount of 28%. This can be accomplished by clicking a checkbox "book entire tour" beneath the number of participants.

Is there a weight limit for the kayaks?

Yes - up to 400 lbs per vessel. This is not enforced by the staff but rather by the laws of physics.

We ask that the heavier person sits in the back of the kayak. This will make it easier to maneuver.

In the event of preference or weight being an issue, we offer the option of purchasing two (2) seats to reserve a kayak completely to yourself.

Where are you located?

All along the Texas coast, with new locations popping up frequently. Check our Locations page for more information!

What equipment is provided?

GlowRow® will provide the crystal clear kayak with lights & USCG flare kit, paddle with lanyard, USCG life jackets, flashlights, and an emergency whistle.

What if my lights quit working?

Our staff has extra batteries on hand to keep you glowing throughout the entire tour!

What if there is bad weather the day of our trip?

The weather in our area is generally quite pleasant. It's one reason Texas is considered a major vacation destination. The months of July through October can produce strong afternoon thunderstorms that we carefully monitor. Our staff continually monitors weather conditions to ensure you have the safest and most enjoyable trip possible.

Obviously, we are not in charge of the weather and cannot change a rainy day to accommodate your plans. Your best bet is to be prepared for all types of weather so you will remain comfortable. Please, carefully review the gear list provided and follow the recommendations. *Light rain is not considered a reason to cancel a booking.

We will not paddle in thunderstorms, high wind, or any weather that is dangerous. We do sometimes paddle in light rain if there is no threat of lightning. Our policy if a thunderstorm threatens is we "wait it out" and see if the radar indicates it may pass through or dissipate. The nature of thunderstorms in the summer is that they move fast and generally dissipate just after dark as the day cools or they rain themselves out.

Please remember your tour is not canceled unless you hear from us via email. Having a schedule that is a little flexible in the summer is also a help if we have to delay a little while to let a storm pass. Some of our best paddles happen just after a thunderstorm when everything goes calm.

Is it appropriate to give gratuities to our guides?

While gratuities are by no means required, any gratuity you feel appropriate is very much appreciated and welcomed. As in all service industries, 10% or more is a good rule to follow when considering how much to tip.

What is your cancellation/refund policy?

We offer cancellations on purchases made of the services offered on our Website. We offer cancellations only prior to performance of the service and If a session is cancelled by GlowRow® due to unsafe conditions, a refund will be issued. If a guest cancels more than 48 hours in advance, GlowRow® will provide a refund in the amount paid. If a guest cancels within 48 hours of their session, NO REFUND will be given. Weather can change quickly in South Texas and your safety is our priority. We watch conditions and make the call when appropriate. We will still paddle if it's cold, light rain, or cloudy. We won't paddle if there are high winds, thunder, or lightning. We are booked up nearly every day, so we can't have last minute rescheduling or cancellations. If things change on your end, you can reschedule up to 48 hours prior to your appointment by clicking contact us on our website or calling us at 702-720-GLOW(4569). You may cancel your order by contacting us. You will not be charged a cancellation fee if you cancel your purchase in accordance with the instructions above. We will issue you a refund of the full purchase price that you paid if you cancel your purchase.

We reserve the right to cancel your purchase for any reason, at our sole discretion, including but not limited to fraud, inaccuracies, and unavailability of the items or services purchased. We will not provide you with any notice prior to canceling your purchase.

We will issue you a refund of the full purchase price that you paid if GlowRow® cancels your purchase.

Typical Wind policy: In the event the winds are above 20mph but under 29mph GlowRow® will issue a wind advisory. When a wind advisory is issued the tour is not cancelled by GlowRow® and you are NOT eligible for a refund. In the event that GlowRow® issued a wind advisory email to you, you may elect for a NON-REFUNDABLE gift card if you choose to not participate in the tour, only within the 48 hours prior to your reservation. In the event winds are 29mph or higher GlowRow® will issue a wind cancellation for the tour and issue a full refund.

Are bug sprays permitted?

ALL bug sprays, sunscreens, and tanning lotions are strictly prohibited from use. This will melt the surface of the kayak and will incur a service charge of $125 for refinishing the inside surface.

OFF!® clip-on's and electronic Thermocell's are permitted for aeromatic bug repellant in the case there is concern over bugs. We do not provide these at this time.

Can I bring a GoPro or my phone to capture photos or video?

Of course, in fact, we encourage photos and videos, how else are you going to tell your friends about finding the lost city of Atlantis through the bottom of your kayak?
**We are not responsible for any lost or dare we say, eaten, electronic items.

GlowRow® is a low-light environment. If your phone is capable, we recommend using the 'Night' mode to get a higher quality photo for low-light environments.

Will GlowRow® provide photos of my experience?

No, our top priority for our guides is the safety of the group, not just taking a picture of that fish.

P.S. Aaand... we do not condone blackmail.

Are coolers (ice chests) allowed?

Yes, only soft coolers. We ask that hard coolers be left in your vehicle.

What's the latest I can book a tour?

All reservations must be made a minimum of 24 hours in advance.

Are pets permitted to come aboard a kayak?

As much as we love our furry and feathered friends, we do not allow them to come along on the GlowRow experience. We are sorry for any inconvenience.
