Route Description
This route is one of our best for beginner kayakers!
We will start out on the North side of the little jetty, then venture North towards Kingfisher Beach. This route will take you right down the edge of the jetty to see a natural wetland hatchery where fingerling-sized fish are hanging out until they're big enough to venture into the deeper part of the bay.
It is extremely shallow throughout the entire 1-mile tour, with an average depth of about 6-8".
In this area, there are many varieties of fish, including small red drum, sand trout, speckled trout, black drum, sheepshead, and croaker just to name a few - not to forget all our little friendly hermit crabs that are abundant and call the rocks and crevices in the jetty home.
